Her husband Jeff Tietjens, a lawyer, filed divorce papers earlier this month at the L.A. Superior Court and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for separation. The documents also reveal that the couple were separated since January 2015.
While the exact reason as to why they decided to call it quits for good is unknown, speculation suggests that it might have something to do with Tyler’s inability to conceive. She has been very vocal about her conception issues in “The Talk” which she co-hosts with six other women (Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete).
TVGuide reports that in 2013 Tyler revealed on “The Talk” that she and Tietjens had decided to stop trying to have a child.
Aisha and Jeff were college sweethearts and got married in May 1992.
While the couple are divorcing, a representative of Tyler, Lisa Morbete, stated that she intends to remain friends with her soon-to-be former husband.
Additionally, in the divorce papers, Tietjens hasn’t asked for spousal support, but has indicated that he’s reserving the right to do so at a later date.
Tyler isn’t just a brilliant actress and host, she is also a comedian, author, producer, writer and director. Apart from her stint on “Criminal Minds” and “The Talk,” she also lends her voice to the character of Lana Kane in “Archer” and has had several recurring roles in hit shows such as “Friends,” “CSI” and “Talk Soup.”
You can watch the dusky beauty play a bold and smart profiler who helps the BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) catch killers in “Criminal Minds” every Wednesday night at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
