Season 11 of the American police procedural drama TV series “Criminal Minds” is progressing at its own pace towards a riveting season finale slated to air on CBS sometime in April, or May at the latest.
After that nerve-wracking episode 14 titled “Hostage” which was taken from a real-life kidnapping story not too long ago, “Criminal Minds” shall head into another edge-of-the-seat thriller for its upcoming episode 15 to air on February 24.
The next episode would see members of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) heading into Los Angeles to deal with an UnSub, who JJ, played by A.J. Cook, eventually founds out as someone who was actually being invited to the victims’ homes, which made it easier for him to commit the crime.
Interestingly, the other highlights of episode 15 of “Criminal Minds” are the guestings of former TV series mainstay Agent Emily Prentiss, played by Paget Brewster, and FBI Agent Natalie Colfax, played by Marisol Nichols.
Agent Emily Prentiss will be reaching out to her friends after she vacated FBI’s BAU and decided to work for Interpol. In the upcoming episode, she is currently assigned in London, details the Christian Post.
A serial killer from Europe
Agent Prentiss’ return to BAU has something to do with a serial killer at large in Europe, who she believes, has set his sight on having his next victim in America, particularly in Los Angeles.
The BAU will head to LA after unearthing a security footage which sheds some light on a case. Based on the preview of the next episode of “Criminal Minds,” Jennifer Jareau is seen revealing the perpetrator needs his victims to allow him into their homes.
In the next scene, it is revealed that the UnSub masquerades as an FBI agent by flashing a badge to get into his victims’ homes, notes Enstarz.
Eventually, JJ makes her most chilling assessment for the BAU – that the killer could actually be a member of the FBI.
The episode, titled “A Badge and a Gun” clearly shows the UnSub showing his FBI badge to bait his prospective victims into trusting him before killing them.
Drawing assistance from a former team member
Agent Natalie Colfax comes in to help the BAU team as she is already based at L.A. and the UnSub is working in an area that is basically under her jurisdiction.
She will assist the BAU in their quest to hunt down the serial killer. The last time that Agent Colfax appeared as a guest in “Criminal Minds” was during the second episode of the popular TV series in the current Season 11 entitled “The Witness.”
For her part, Brewster left “Criminal Minds” towards its Season 7 finale. The last time she became part of the show was during its 200th episode back in Season 9.
Her guesting stint on “Criminal Minds” is long overdue and she was not able to do so right away because of scheduling conflicts. Brewster is currently part of the TV series “Grandfathered” and is basically the reason why she was not able to schedule her guest appearance on “Criminal Minds” as much as she wanted to.
After a two-week break, episode 14 of “Criminal Minds” was aired on February 10, titled “Hostage.” The episode was actually inspired by the story of three young victims who were held hostage by notorious kidnapper Ariel Castro.
The plotline of the past episode of “Criminal Minds” was very similar to what happened with the three women that Ariel Castro abducted and kept in his house in Cleveland for years until they managed to escape in 2013.
Ariel Castro abducted Michelle Knight in 2002, then Amanda Berry in 2003, and Gina De Jesus in 2004, who were only 21, 16, and 14, respectively. The three women managed to escape from their kidnapper in 2013 when someone heard them yelling from inside Castro’s house.
