The drama surrounding one of the stars of “Criminal Minds”, Thomas Gibson has reached a higher publicity status than the show itself. The actor, who plays Aaron Hotchner on CBS’s criminalist drama was let go of his contract after directly assaulting a writer and producer of the series. What will happen to him now?
Many questions have arisen about Gibson’s future in the series and ITech Post has some news to deliver. The character has been written off the series. Aaron Hotchner has decided to leave his post in the BAU to protect the safety of his son. In the last release episode it was told that Hotchner’s son has been stalked by Scratch at a soccer game and that is what pushed him into entering witness protection program. He gets a new name, new identity and a place to live somewhere far away from the series, this is the end of the character.
Fans are unhappy with the way that the show wrote off the character. They believed that he deserved more and beyond that, even a return. Inquisitr reports that viewers of the series keep bombarding hash tags like “#WheresHotch” and “#NoHotchNoWatch” with thousands of messages demanding that their favorite character comes back to the series. As of now, there is still no official answer from CBS towards the fans’ messages.
People Magazine shares a different view on Hotchner’s disappearance. They note that through some of the characters’ words, viewers can hear the words of the show’s writers and cast. Please towards the audience to stay with them through Hotchner’s leave, because otherwise things may turn out to be worse. After all, Aaron was written off the series instead of getting killed, which still gives fans some hope that after all the administrative problems have been dealt with, there is a slight chance that Gibson will return to the series.
“Criminal Minds” Season 12 Episode 7 will air on 30 November on CBS.
