“Criminal Minds” (10 p.m., CBS): Oh, baby girl! Shemar Moore makes a short but sweet return to the show in which he starred for 11 seasons. Reprising his role as Derek Morgan, his character comes back to the BAU to help Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) deal with a case that has affected her emotionally. The timing of his appearance is no coincidence. next week, Moore, and Oakland native, launches his new series, “S.W.A.T.,” on CBS.

“Frontline” (10 p.m., PBS): The two-part “Putin’s Revenge” launches tonight and concludes next week. The program explores how and why Russian President Vladimir Putin has sought to sow distrust in America’s democracy.
